What You Should Know About Cabinetry
First off, when I refer to cabinetry here, I am referring to Kitchen cabinets as well as desks, entertainment centers, dressers, night stands, ect. Most home furnishings fall into this category.
Most People don't realize the differences between a quality built cabinet and lesser built cabinetry. To start with, custom built doesn't always mean well built. Custom built only refers to the size of the cabinets being made, to custom fit an area, rather than having stock size cabinets and then filler pieces to make them fit. While Custom does make for a better job, it doesn't mean that the cabinets themselves will be any higher quality than the cheapest 'home center' cabinets. The difference overall is one cabinet is made to last 5-10 years, and the other is made to last a lifetime or longer.
There are several ways to tell if you are getting a quality built cabinet. We will take you through it step by step. Just click on each of the links below to get details on each part of the cabinets as well as pictures and tips to see what your really getting when you buy a cabinet:

Don't let someone talk you into wasting a lot of money on a kitchen or bathroom that you will have to replace in a few years. Sometimes spending a little more now will save you a lot later Also remember that a good custom job with high quality cabinets will be a major factor when you sell your home.
